The Mountain Folk are Dimity Kennedy and Jefferton James, a couple who live in Blackheath and photograph and film weddings together across the Blue Mountains. Dimity works mainly behind the stills camera and Jefferton behind the cine camera, and between them a single wedding day comes back as both a set of photographs and a film. They describe their aim as becoming an eyewitness to the day rather than an obstruction, and the work has the unforced feel that suggests.

The pictures are candid and warm, built out of natural light and the moments between the formal ones. Booking them is booking both of them. They shoot, edit and answer their own enquiries, so the two people who meet you over coffee are the two people in the room on the day and the two people cutting the film afterwards.
