Tina Bingham has run Peppermint Studios out of Wagga Wagga for more than ten years — a full-time wedding and portrait photographer who describes herself as a country girl born and bred. The blog reads like a map of the Riverina: Nu Lumeah, Brucedale Estate, Cottontails, St Edward’s of the Riverina, Magpies Nest, and out through Griffith, Jugiong, Corowa, Tumut and Batlow.
Natural light and a relaxed hand, in her own words: no pressure, no traditional posing, just get on with the day. The pictures follow — sandstone churches, green bridesmaid dresses against winter paddocks, confetti on the church steps, black-and-white reportage through the reception. Grain and low light are used rather than avoided, and there is a strong run of dusk portraits in open country.
Couples marrying anywhere in the Riverina who want a photographer who lives there and has shot the district’s venues for a decade. She is direct about wanting the fit to be right — the offer is a coffee and a chat before any decision, and a video call if you are out of town. Anyone wanting a heavily directed, formal day should look elsewhere.
Packages start at $3,600 and all of them include the digital files. A $1,000 non-refundable booking fee secures the date. Fine art albums and wall art are designed separately, and an album takes eight to ten weeks to produce once the design is signed off. Engagement sessions are offered as a trial run in front of the camera before the day.
The album, treated as a real product rather than an upsell — swatches and sample books to handle, spreads laid out for the couple to change, the couple’s own text on the cover, and a straight answer on how long it takes. In a trade where albums are usually a line item and a hope, that is unusually concrete.
