About

Overview & Vibe

Ivy Floral & Co is a boutique wedding and event studio in Epping, run by floral designer Ivy Kim, who started in 2016 and has been working with flowers for more than seven years. It is a design practice rather than a shop: every arrangement is made to order, quotations are free, and the studio keeps weekday hours. Its work runs from harbourside arbours to suspended ceiling installations, and it services Sydney, the Southern Highlands and the Hunter Valley.

Style & Signature Blooms

Elegant, romantic, timeless and refined is how the studio puts it, and the portfolio bears it out - modern white and green schemes built on garden-scented and Playa Blanca roses, phalaenopsis orchid, hydrangea, Queen Anne’s lace and flannel flower, alongside brighter summer work in coral and rust. It designs to the season rather than against it, and it will build the same brief at any scale, from a bouquet to a ceiling.

Ideal For

Couples who want to know what their day will actually cost before they enquire. The studio publishes three of its own weddings as worked examples, each with the venue, the guest count, the floral budget, the exact list of arrangements and the flowers used - a minimalist white wedding for 50 to 100 guests at $5,000 to $7,000, a Tuscan-styled celebration for under 50 at $7,000 to $10,000, and a modern white wedding for 100 to 150 with a ceiling installation at $15,000 to $25,000. Read together they show something a price list cannot: the brief drives the figure, not the headcount.

The Need-to-Knows

The minimum spend is $5,000, stated plainly on the enquiry form. That form asks for your date, venue, guest count band and budget band before it asks about style, so have them ready. Weddings and other events use different forms - send a wedding brief to the wedding one. Delivery, set-up and installation come with the job, including interstate-scale travel: for the Hunter Valley wedding everything was built in Epping and driven up. If you want a suspended ceiling piece, check your venue allows it first.

Standout Feature

The ceiling work. One published wedding at Orso in Mosman used the venue’s floor-to-ceiling height for a suspended installation over the centre of the reception room, and the studio explains where else such a piece can go - above the ceremony, the dance floor, the entrance, the bar, a marquee’s rafters or the cake table - along with the one practical caveat, which is to ask your venue first.

Appointment Policy

  • Wedding enquiries go through the studio's own wedding form; events other than weddings have a separate one.
  • The form asks for your wedding date, venue, guest count band and floral budget band, plus your style and vision - so have those to hand before you start.
  • Quotations are free and every design is made to order rather than picked from a list.
  • The studio keeps business hours Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm.

Areas Serviced

  • Sydney - the studio is based in Epping and works across the metropolitan area, from harbourside venues to churches and garden ceremonies.
  • Southern Highlands - named by the studio as a region it services.
  • Hunter Valley - named by the studio as a region it services, and worked in practice: for a wedding at Redleaf Wollombi it built every arrangement in Sydney, then travelled up to deliver, set up and install, bridal flowers included.

Delivery & Setup

  • Delivery, set-up and installation are part of the job - the studio installs ceremony backdrops, aisle arrangements, bridal and guest table flowers and suspended ceiling work on the day.
  • For a wedding outside Sydney the arrangements are built in the Epping studio and driven up, then delivered, set up and installed on site - that is how the Hunter Valley wedding at Redleaf Wollombi was run.
  • Suspended ceiling installations need the venue's permission, and the studio says so plainly: check with your venue first, though most allow them.

Nearby Landmarks

  • The studio's own portfolio names the Sydney venues it has flowered: Orso at The Spit, Ripples Chowder Bay, Athol Hall, Sergeants Mess, Deckhouse Woolwich, Pier One, Vaucluse House, the Royal Botanic Garden, the QVB Tea Room, The Mint, Curzon Hall and Panorama House.
  • Outside the city it names Redleaf Wollombi in the Hunter Valley, and Bendooley Estate and Centennial Vineyards in the Southern Highlands.

Price Notes

  • The floor is $5,000, and the studio publishes the bands above it: $5,000-$7,000, $7,000-$10,000, $10,000-$15,000, $15,000-$25,000 and $25,000+.
  • Its three published weddings show what each band buys, and they are worth reading in order: a 50-100 guest minimalist white wedding landed at $5,000-$7,000, while an under-50-guest luxury wedding with fruit-and-flower tablescapes came in higher at $7,000-$10,000.
  • Guest count is not what drives the figure - the brief is. The largest of the three, at 100-150 guests with a suspended ceiling installation, sat at $15,000-$25,000.
  • Quotations are free, and every arrangement is custom designed rather than sold from a package list.

  • Ceremony flowers - arbours and backdrops, aisle ground arrangements, church and chapel florals, and tossing petals.
