Wedding Photographers · Mackay, Queensland
TeeJay Finton is a Mackay and Whitsundays photographer who works with couples planning something small. Kiwi born and Aussie raised, she took the plunge into photography in 2017 and finished her Diploma of Photo Imaging in 2020. Weddings are one of several things she photographs, but the wedding side of her work is narrow on purpose: intimate ceremonies and elopements, with coverage curated to a maximum of six hours.
She describes her approach as natural and true to colour with a warm feel, laid-back and fun, and her editing as aiming for a cohesive, polished and timeless finish. On the day she moves through it in a relaxed, unobtrusive way — present, but never in the way — watching for the details you spent months on, the way your hands find each other, and the tears that take you by surprise.
Couples having a small gathering with their closest people, or a private just-the-two-of-you moment somewhere beautiful. She is refreshingly direct about the opposite case: if you are planning a large, full-day traditional wedding she says she may not be the right photographer, and offers to point you to someone in the region who is. She works around Mackay and the Whitsundays.
Wedding photography starts from $1,890, with coverage curated for up to six hours. Every collection includes a pre-wedding consultation in person, by phone or online, attendance at the rehearsal if it is needed, professional editing of the high-resolution images, and a private online gallery with access to prints, albums and keepsakes. A booking is secured with a 30% non-refundable retainer; dates cannot be held without one.
Every wedding collection includes a set of iMagnets made from the day itself — photographic magnets you can actually put on the fridge, which is a long way from a gallery link nobody opens twice. She also offers herself as a second shooter to other photographers working in the region.
