Michael — Briggsy to his couples — was born and bred in the Yarra Valley and says he cannot imagine living anywhere else. He is a one-man band with no team, less than an hour from Melbourne, and he sells exactly one wedding option because he thinks hourly packages are confusing and lead to awkward conversations on the day.

Natural and unposed. Couples describe wanting to spend the least possible time posing for a camera and getting exactly that — his prompts and cues bring out relaxed, natural-looking photographs rather than arranged ones. All Day Coverage. Price: $4,890 including GST. Description: His only wedding option. He is there from getting ready in the early afternoon through the formalities to the dance floor, typically about 1pm to 9pm. Includes any number of meetups, video calls, phone calls and emails.
End of Reception. Price: $880. Description: Coverage beyond three hours of reception formalities through to the very end, good for a sparkler exit or fireworks, with at least a hundred more photographs. Latest finish 11:30pm.
Second Photographer. Price: $1,540. Description: A second professional working alongside him for the whole day, whose images he edits and delivers. He suggests it for weddings above about 150 guests.
35mm Film Photographs. Price: $330 introductory. Description: Two or three rolls shot alongside the digital coverage, colour or black and white at his discretion, developed, scanned and added to your gallery.
