Wedding Photographers · Yarra Valley, Victoria
Andrew Harrison has been a professional photographer since 2000 and has photographed more than 1,500 weddings. He is an AIPP Master of Photography and was Victorian Wedding Photographer of the Year in 2017, with runner-up or top-three placings most years since. After three studios in Melbourne’s bayside suburbs he now works from a sea change home studio at Inverloch on the Bass Coast, and still keeps a Melbourne address for meetings.
He describes the work as natural, fun and candid, and says he specialises in relaxed and naturally beautiful wedding photographs. His own account of the method is that he lets your story unfold, allowing the quiet moments and connections to happen rather than staging them, so the style is decided on the day by whatever is actually going on. He also has a speciality in black and white, hand printed.
Couples who want an experienced pair of hands and a clear price list rather than a quote. He works alone by choice, having covered 1,500 weddings without a second photographer, and shoots in a way designed to cover what two people would. It suits couples marrying anywhere across Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, South Gippsland, the Bass Coast or the Mornington Peninsula, since none of those attracts a travel cost.
Photography starts at $1,888 for four hours, $2,388 for six and $2,888 for eight, with a full day at $4,500 that includes a 20 page album, two parent books and a 4K ceremony video. Photo and video packages run from $2,988. Every package includes unlimited high resolution photographs, corrected and without watermarks, delivered through a password-protected online gallery. He carries $20 million public liability cover.
The photographs come back fast. His price list promises them within five to seven days and his own answer elsewhere says most couples have theirs within seven to ten — against a four to six week wait that is normal in this trade. For a couple who wants to share the day while it is still recent, that is the difference.
