Anthea and Lyndon are a husband-and-wife photography and film team based in Canberra, capturing weddings since 2013. Anthea spent years in documentary photography for international not-for-profits and Lyndon came from commercial video and television, and the two backgrounds show in the work. They cover the whole day together, so the photographs and the film come from one team rather than two crews working around each other.
Their own summary is that the style is natural and emotive, with plenty of movement, fun and feeling. They give direction during the portrait session and the traditional family photographs, then step back and capture everything else in a candid, documentary way rather than staging posed shots. As they put it, on the day you mostly will not notice they are there.
Couples who want photographs and a film from the same team, and who would rather the day was recorded as it happened than arranged for the camera. It suits anyone marrying around Canberra and the surrounding country districts, and the coverage stretches from three hours for a small day to twelve for a long one. Couples who dislike being photographed are well served, since most of the day is captured without direction.
Photography runs $3,900 to $5,900 for three to twelve hours of coverage. Film alone is $6,500 to $7,500 for seven to twelve hours, and the two together are quoted as a tailored package. Every booking carries a $1,500 booking fee, with the balance due two weeks before the wedding. Bookings are taken up to eighteen months ahead. A social-media-ready sneak peek arrives first and the full gallery within eight weeks, with no time limit on access afterwards.
The planning support that comes before the day. They ask for a photo schedule and a run sheet, then work through the timing with the couple — an hour with each partner before the ceremony, thirty to forty-five minutes afterwards for family photographs, and an hour to an hour and a half for couple portraits in the two hours before sunset, with driving time between locations built in. Their heirloom books are custom designed and printed with archival ink on matte paper, lay-flat bound so a spread opens without a gutter.
