About

Overview & Vibe

Fig & Bloom was founded in Melbourne in 2015 and now works from three studios of its own - Fairfield in Melbourne, Camperdown in Sydney and Bowen Hills in Brisbane - taking weddings in all three cities. Everything is made by hand in the studio for the city it is going to. The wider business is premium gift flower delivery, and the wedding side is run as its own service with a dedicated events team.

Style & Signature Blooms

The range runs from sculptural natives through romantic pastels to refined dried work, and fresh seasonal blooms are regularly blended with dried elements. Stems come from Australian growers the studio has worked with for years, cut for the wedding date rather than held in a cool room. One of its published weddings was built from pink king proteas, red alstroemeria, blush lisianthus and eucalyptus, with eucalyptus garlands hung behind the ceremony.

Ideal For

Couples in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane who would rather describe a mood than choose from a list, and who want one point of contact rather than a rotating team. It suits couples who are willing to hand over a palette and let the studio buy what is best at market that week - which is also, on its own advice, how to get the most from a budget.

The Need-to-Knows

There are no packages and no published wedding prices; a date, a venue and a rough guest count is enough to start an enquiry. You work with one consultant from the first conversation to the morning of the wedding. Event orders carry a compulsory delivery fee set by time window - $100 for a morning or afternoon slot and $200 after 5pm - and a Sunday wedding or a late pack-down costs more because the install team is on penalty rates. If friends or family can place arrangements themselves, say so early and the design can allow for it.

Standout Feature

The co-founder publishes unusually frank budget advice, including two things most florists keep to themselves: that a great deal of what couples now pin for inspiration is AI-generated, so the flower may not exist in that colour or at all; and that if another couple is marrying at your venue the day before, one ceremony installation can sometimes serve both weddings with the cost split between you.

Appointment Policy

  • A date, a venue and a rough guest count is enough to start an enquiry; a folder of images is welcome on top of that.
  • Couples work with one consultant from the first conversation through to the morning of the wedding.
  • A bridal consultation is treated as the core of the process, the hour in which season, local availability and palette are worked through.
  • Enquiries can also be made by phone.

Areas Serviced

  • Melbourne - the original studio, at Fairfield, where the business was founded in 2015.
  • Sydney - a second studio at Camperdown.
  • Brisbane - a third studio at Bowen Hills.
  • Weddings are taken in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, each designed and made by hand in the studio for that city.

Delivery & Setup

  • Event flower orders carry a compulsory delivery fee, charged by time window: $100 for a morning delivery between 8am and 12pm, $100 between 12pm and 5pm, and $200 after 5pm.
  • The studio can style the whole day or supply the flowers alone, including table settings, ceremony, stationery and finishing details.
  • Couples who have willing family or friends can arrange their own bump-in and place arrangements themselves, which the studio asks to be told about early so it can design for it.
  • A Sunday wedding or a late-night pack-down costs more, because the team installing and removing the flowers is on penalty rates.

Nearby Landmarks

  • The original studio is in Fairfield, in Melbourne's inner north, close to the Yarra River parklands and the Fairfield Boathouse.
  • The Sydney studio is on Australia Street in Camperdown, between Newtown and the University of Sydney.
  • The Brisbane studio is at Bowen Hills, just north of the CBD near the Royal International Convention Centre and the Brisbane Showgrounds.

Price Notes

  • No wedding prices are published; each wedding is quoted after a conversation about date, palette and budget.
  • Handing over a colour palette rather than a fixed list of stems is the studio's own advice for getting the most from a budget, because it can then buy whatever is best at market that week.
  • Setting your heart on one particular flower raises the quote, since a specific stem out of its month means imports and substitutions.
  • If the budget needs trimming, the studio recommends keeping the bridal bouquet and buttonholes and spending where guests sit and the camera looks.
  • Where another couple is marrying at the same venue the day before, one ceremony installation can sometimes serve both weddings with the cost split between them.
  • Winter weddings can cost less overall, with in-season flowers and cheaper venue hire.
