White House Flowers is a wedding and event floral studio in Brookvale, on Sydney’s northern beaches, founded in 2019 by Mel Anderson and Jess Hapl. It began in a white house in Manly and now works from a warehouse atelier. Mel holds a Master’s in Architecture and is a third-generation florist who grew up in her grandparents’ shop in Northern Ireland; Jess came through textiles and runs the event and retail side. Both are at the flower markets before dawn.
Style & Signature Blooms
The work is architectural and editorial rather than pretty-by-default - the studio talks about proportion, balance, and colour, form and texture in dialogue with the room. In practice that runs from a single cascading white bouquet down the length of a gown to a floral installation suspended over a whole reception. No individual bloom is named; the promise is the market run instead, with the stems chosen on the morning rather than off a list.
