Jon Gazzignato is a Hobart-based wedding and elopement photographer who shoots more than fifty weddings a year and has passed four hundred all up. He works the length of Tasmania and travels regularly to the mainland and overseas. The tone he sets is loose and warm rather than formal: he describes himself as the friend and sidekick who is around to bounce ideas off while the plan comes together.
Drawn, in his own words, from a love of street photography, human connection and unscripted chaos. He photographs the pre-ceremony nerves, the rawness of the vows and the intimacy of the couple shoot, and says that when the night arrives he will be on the dance floor with everyone else.
Couples who want the day recorded as it happens, and anyone planning something remote. He is as comfortable with a full reception as with an elopement of ten guests or fewer, and lists sunrise on the west coast, wine in the Tamar Valley and the summit of Cradle Mountain among the days he is happy to walk into.
Wedding packages start at $3,400 and elopement packages at $1,900, with prices varying by season; the elopement rate covers up to ten guests. A full guide covering pricing, travel, prints, albums and delivery is sent by email on request. Fine art albums are a separate product, priced from $1,800 for a ten-by-ten of thirty spreads.
The reach across Tasmania. The published work runs from Hobart and the Tamar Valley out to Freycinet, the Bay of Fires, Cradle Mountain, Bruny Island, Flinders Island and King Island, which is a wider geographic spread than almost any photographer in this directory.
