Tweed Coast, New South Wales
Categories in this region
The Tweed Coast runs from Kingscliff south through Casuarina, Cabarita Beach and Hastings Point to Pottsville, a strip of NSW beach towns between the Gold Coast and Byron Bay with Mount Warning and the Tweed caldera rising behind them. It has the surf and the sub-tropical light of Byron without the crowds, and Gold Coast Airport sits fifteen minutes north of Kingscliff.
Weddings here are barefoot-coastal by default: ceremonies on Kingscliff and Casuarina beaches or on headland reserves, receptions in beach clubs, surf clubs and hinterland estates looking back at the caldera rim. The region's restaurants have grown well beyond what the population would suggest, so catering is unusually strong for a coastal strip, and couples routinely pair a beach ceremony with a hinterland reception half an hour inland.
