• Pricing is provided on enquiry, and no capacity is published either — no per-head rate, venue hire fee, minimum spend, package figure or guest number. Everything starts with a form.
• The venue has been doing this since 2007: 'We've been helping couples create the wedding of their dreams since 2007 so you can relax, knowing your special day is in the hands of experienced professionals.'
• Everything happens on one site, and that is the selling point: 'The beauty of Mavis's is that you can do it all here - no need to rush between your accommodation, ceremony and reception venues - so you can truly be present and take it all in.'
• Wedding cakes are made on site by the venue's own pastry chefs - unusual enough to be a headline. 'At Mavis Kitchen we have made countless wedding cakes in a wide variety of styles and flavours, so you can be confident this important detail is in safe hands! Our pastry experts can make your dream wedding cake for you right here onsite (so there's no need to stress about transporting it safely).' They also supply off-site: 'Now available to be ordered for your off-site Wedding or celebration. Our talented pastry chefs can create a range of beautiful cakes from multi-tiered naked cakes, Croquembouche towers to full fondant masterpieces and always with a perfectly decadent center.' No cake prices are published either.
• A site visit comes with a tasting voucher: 'When you make an appointment to meet with us onsite, we'll send you a gift voucher to sample some of our food and beverages while you're here. It's our little way of saying thank you for considering Mavis for your special day.'
• Opening days constrain contact as well as dining: 'If you have any questions, give us a call on 02 6679 5664 during our opening hours, Wednesdays to Sundays.' A couple should not expect a Monday or Tuesday reply.
• Accommodation is five separate cabins rather than a block - the Farmhouse, Secret Cabin, Snug Cabin, Log Cabin and Old Dairy, each with its own page. No bed counts, rates or total sleeping capacity are published.
