Halcyon House
About
Overview & Vibe
Halcyon House is a twenty-two room luxury hotel directly on Cabarita Beach, fifteen minutes south of Gold Coast Airport and thirty minutes north of Byron Bay.
Setting & Style
It was a run-down surf motel before its restoration, and the bones are still there under the blue-and-white stripes, hand-painted murals and pattern-on-pattern interiors it is now known for. Weddings here are deliberately small — the hotel markets micro weddings, a select group of guests in a relaxed beachfront atmosphere, rather than a function-centre operation. The lawn and the terrace by the heated pool are where things happen, with the beach itself a few steps away. Paper Daisy, the hotel's restaurant, does the food, built around seasonal produce and what the hotel calls relaxed luxury. For a wedding of any size the practical route is the hotel and restaurant buyout, which hands over Paper Daisy, the pool area and the terrace exclusively from 5pm on arrival to noon on departure.
Ideal For
Couples wanting a small, design-led beachfront wedding where every guest stays on site and the whole property can be theirs.

Price Notes
- Pricing comes from the hotel's Events Brochure 2025-2026, PDF ModDate 22 May 2025, so it is current. Note that it is an events, retreats and incentives brochure rather than a wedding package: the rates below are accommodation and event rates, and no wedding per-head package is published. Two structures are offered. Option 1, Integrated Stay, is from $545 per night based on one delegate in single occupancy in a Halcyon Classic Room, including daily a la carte breakfast, a complimentary non-alcoholic mini bar refreshed daily, a welcome drink, access to Halcyon Wellness and use of the hotel's bicycles and McTavish and Mick Fanning surfboards. Option 2, the Hotel and Restaurant Buyout, is from $26,640 based on 22 delegates in single occupancy across various room categories in low season, with the option to accommodate up to 48 guests twin share; it adds exclusive use of the Paper Daisy restaurant, pool area and terrace from 5.00pm on the day of arrival to 12.00 noon on the day of departure. A day delegate package including morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner is from $200 per person. Quoted prices are based on midweek Monday to Thursday rates and exclusion dates apply. In-house add-ons include spa treatments, a chef masterclass with Paper Daisy executive chef Andrew Milford, degustation with wine matching, cocktail and gin masterclasses, beach yoga and picnics, and lawn games.
