Graeme Passmore is an editorial wedding photographer and film maker based on the Gold Coast, working across Byron Bay, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. He has photographed hundreds of weddings, and describes himself as the calm presence in the room — someone who keeps the day moving without the couple noticing the work. Photography and film can be booked together or separately, and he is available in person by appointment on the Gold Coast.
His own summary is that the work blends documentary storytelling with editorial direction, so the pictures feel natural but look considered, refined and timeless. In practice that means gentle direction when it is needed and stepping back when something real is happening. He delivers on average around one hundred photographs for every hour of coverage, and regularly between five hundred and eight hundred across a wedding, all fully edited.
Modern, romantic couples who want an elevated, magazine-leaning look rather than a purely reportage one, and who would rather one person handled both photography and film. It suits couples worried they are awkward in front of a camera, and couples marrying at hinterland estates and coastal venues between Byron Bay and the Sunshine Coast. Same-sex couples are welcomed explicitly.
Photography starts at $4,400 for six hours, with eight hours at $5,400, ten at $6,400 and twelve at $7,400. Photography and film together run $8,900 for eight hours, $10,900 for ten and $12,900 for twelve, and film alone starts at $3,900. Custom coverage begins at $4,000. Optional extras include 35mm film at $750, Super 8 at $1,200, same-day social clips at $900 and a second photographer at $1,200. A sneak peek arrives within days, and the twelve-hour photography package carries priority turnaround with a sneak peek inside twenty-four hours.
The optional analogue layer. Alongside the digital coverage he can shoot two to three rolls of 35mm film, professionally developed and scanned, and a two-to-three minute Super 8 movie that is digitised and delivered with the gallery. Few photographers in the region offer both, and they give a couple a grainy, softer record of the day sitting alongside the polished editorial work.
