About

Overview & Vibe

Andre and Tom left corporate life in Hong Kong and bought Florage in Launceston in early 2022, opening a second shop in midtown Hobart in November 2024. Andre trained in floristry at the Hong Kong Academy of Flower Arrangement after a design career with Gucci, Chanel and Burberry, and is a qualified architect; the shop works to a designer’s-choice model built on whatever Tasmanian growers have that week.

Style & Signature Blooms

Every design is foam-free, and the flowers are Tasmanian-grown wherever the season allows. Because the model is designer’s choice rather than a fixed catalogue, no variety is promised in advance - the arrangement follows what the growers cut.

Ideal For

Couples marrying anywhere across Tasmania who want the environmental side of their flowers to stand up to scrutiny, and who are happy to be guided on blooms rather than choosing a set list. Two shops mean the same team covers both ends of the state. Florage was the florist for the 2023 Bride of the Year.

The Need-to-Knows

Quotes come only after a consultation - not by email, and not without meeting. A quote holds the date for 30 days, after which other couples can book that day. A 30% non-refundable booking fee confirms it and comes off the balance, which is due 30 days out. Borrowed vases must come back clean by 5pm the Monday after.

Standout Feature

The environmental claims are counted, not asserted. Florage stopped using floral foam in August 2022, having gone through about 100 bricks a month, which it puts at more than 3,500 bricks avoided; swapping cellophane for biodegradable bags accounts for roughly 2,730 square metres of plastic. It is the only Tasmanian florist accredited by the Sustainable Floristry Network, and it won the 2024 Tamar NRM Sustainable Tasmanian Business Award.
