About

Overview & Vibe

Bouquet Melbourne has been making wedding, event and gift flowers since 2003. In 2023 Siobhain Murphy, a graphic designer with a long-standing love of floristry, took over, and the studio describes its approach as design-driven rather than decorative. The creative director personally guides each wedding, and consultations happen either online or at the Spotswood studio.

Style & Signature Blooms

Design-led and seasonal, with a portfolio that runs from white-and-green classicism to apricot-and-blue, burgundy and bold red. Roses dominate, including garden roses and named cultivars, alongside peonies, tulips, dahlias, ranunculus, anemones, sweet peas, orchids and Australian natives. The studio writes at length about what is actually in season in Melbourne month by month.

Ideal For

Couples marrying in Melbourne, the Yarra Valley or on the Bellarine Peninsula who want a florist that will talk plainly about money and logistics. It suits both small suites of personal flowers and large-scale installation work, and the studio coordinates directly with venues on bump-in times and setup.

The Need-to-Knows

Book six to twelve months ahead; a quote follows within about a week of receiving the date, venue and floral needs; a 30% deposit secures the date. Most couples are said to spend between $2,500 and $7,000. Delivery and pack-down are charged separately, and the studio explains why rather than leaving it as a line item.

Standout Feature

An unusual willingness to explain costs. The studio sets out that pack-down means staff returning late at night to collect hire items, that after-hours penalty rates drive the fee, and that couples who want to reduce it can have friends or family return the hire items instead. Very few florists publish the reasoning behind a charge, let alone the way around it.

Appointment Policy

  • The studio recommends booking a wedding florist six to twelve months ahead, noting Melbourne's most popular dates fill quickly.
  • Weddings start with a consultation, held online, by phone, by email, or in person at the Spotswood studio.
  • A quote usually follows within a week once the date, venue and floral needs are known.
  • A 30% deposit secures the wedding date once the couple is happy with the quote.
  • Final details are confirmed closer to the day.
  • The enquiry form asks for the event or wedding date and the venue alongside contact details.
  • Enquiries by phone on 1300 79 18 81 or through the contact form; the studio replies within a couple of days.
