About

Overview & Vibe

Urban Antidote is a Melbourne floral design studio founded in 2020 by Anastasia Botica, who left a career in law to do it. The work is modern, playful and unmistakably contemporary - drawn, in her own words, from a love of colour, art, fashion, pop culture and the natural world. It is a studio rather than a shopfront, working across Melbourne and Victoria for weddings, elopements, parties, corporate events and brand activations, and it has been featured in Hello May, Ivory Tribe and Together Journal.

Style & Signature Blooms

Sculptural and confident. The bridal signature is luxe stems - calla lilies, anthuriums and orchids - finished with crinkle ribbon, and bridesmaids often carry en masse bouquets where a single bloom type is massed for effect. Elsewhere the palette runs to roses, dahlias and hydrangeas chosen for the venue. Expect a single green anthurium held against a sheer sleeve as readily as a magenta orchid column, a clifftop aisle lined with blooms, or a pastel meadow built at the foot of a plinth.

Ideal For

Couples marrying anywhere across Melbourne and Victoria who want florals that look designed rather than arranged. The studio publishes its own guides to wedding venues in seven regions and has flowered at The Gardens House, Higher Ground, Zonzo Estate, Hubert Estate, Fergusson Winery and Jackalope, so it arrives knowing the room. Equally suited to an elopement, a party, or a full-scale installation.

The Need-to-Knows

Ask for the wedding and elopement information pack first - it carries the services and price guide and comes by email. Then use the contact form; a reply follows within three business days, covering your vision and whether your date is free, with a deposit invoice attached. A 30 per cent deposit secures the booking and no date is held until it is paid; the remaining 70 per cent is due two weeks out. A mood board comes next, then a site visit or a Google Meet to finalise. The studio works Tuesday to Saturday.

Standout Feature

Most florists tell you which regions they cover. This one has written a guide to the best wedding venues in each of them - Melbourne CBD and suburbs, the Yarra Valley, the Mornington Peninsula, Geelong and the Bellarine, the Great Ocean Road, and Daylesford through to Ballarat - naming five or so venues apiece and saying, venue by venue, what florals actually suit the space. Rustic elegance at Basil’s Farm, floating floral clouds at Jack Rabbit, architectural urns at Terindah. If you have not chosen a venue yet, it is a genuinely useful thing to read; if you have, it tells you whether this studio has thought about your room.
