Sleeping Grace Photography is Raelene, working from Phillip Island. She photographs weddings, elopements, families and couples across the island, the Bass Coast, the Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland, and describes what she does as fine art photography — light crossing a surface, a shadow giving shape to something ordinary, the small interactions between people that pass in a moment.
Her own description is natural, timeless and documentary-inspired. Rather than heavily posed images she works for authentic moments, genuine emotion and the small details, and her aim is that photographs feel effortless rather than staged. She wants couples comfortable enough to forget the camera is there, and every gallery is edited to a timeless look so the story stays the focus.
Couples marrying on Phillip Island or anywhere across the Bass Coast, Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland who want a photographer who actually lives there. She knows the changing weather, the hidden beaches and the quiet places — Cape Woolamai, Smiths Beach, Rhyll, Ventnor, Cowes and San Remo — and offers to help choose locations, timing and light around them. Intimate elopements and large celebrations both sit inside the same three collections.
Three collections, all with a private online gallery: Short Day at four hours with 200 or more edited images for $1,800; The Day at eight hours with 400 or more for $3,200; and The Whole Story at ten hours with 600 or more for $4,200. In her words she likes to keep things simple — the packages reflect the coverage most couples choose, and anything different is arranged by asking. No album range, delivery time or booking deposit is published.
A genuinely local photographer on an island where most wedding photography arrives from Melbourne for the day. Living and working on Phillip Island is the thing she leads with, and it shows in the offer to plan around the light and the weather rather than around a travel schedule.
