Overview & Vibe
Pete Battye has been photographing weddings across the South West of Western Australia for more than twenty-five years, the last ten of them at a rate he counts in hundreds of weddings. He learned the craft over an eight-year career as a Royal Australian Air Force photographer, then spent years as a travel photographer in Europe and Asia before coming home. He is accredited with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.
Style & Approach
Natural, candid and timeless, shot in what he calls a relaxed, fun, genuine and unobtrusive manner. He moves constantly rather than working from one spot, and is candid about why: you have invested too much for your photographer to shoot the whole ceremony from the same angle. Posed group shots are offered rather than imposed.
