Bunbury, Western Australia

Bunbury is Western Australia’s second city, built where the Indian Ocean meets the Leschenault Estuary, with dolphins in the bay and the Back Beach dunes running south. Couples marry on the estuary foreshore, at Marlston Hill above the harbour, and among the tuart forests and vineyards of the Ferguson Valley.

Gnomesville and the Wellington Dam mural are inland curiosities, Busselton and Margaret River begin an hour south, and Perth is two hours up the coast — close enough for guests, far enough to feel like somewhere.
