Kath Young bought a camera ten years ago and moved to Italy for a year, and came home a wedding photographer. She works from Perth and shoots both digital and film, often in the same day — 35mm and 120 alongside the digital frames. Her work has been featured by The Wed, Together Journal and The Anti-Bride.
Editorial, with documentary depth. She describes it as real, intimate moments through a contemporary lens, and the images bear that out: elegant, quiet, unhurried, with the timeless warmth of film against the detail of digital. Couples describe a calm on the day — her word for what she wants from you is trust, and then to let the day unfold on its own.
Couples marrying in Perth or in the South West, and couples marrying somewhere further away. Her published weddings run from COMO The Treasury in the city to a private home in Perth, to Credaro Winery and other Yallingup weddings, to Hilton Park in Ireland. Anyone drawn to film will find a full collection shot on 35mm and 120.
Wedding day coverage starts from AUD $7,000, with custom quotes for intimate weekday weddings. She takes a limited number of weddings each month, so enquiring early matters more here than most. Beyond that entry figure nothing else is published — no hours, no collections, no album prices — and everything is arranged through a direct conversation.
The film work is a real line, not a garnish. There is a whole collection shot on 35mm and 120, and she says plainly that she loves adding medium format to a wedding day. If you want a set of pictures that will look like the year they were taken rather than the year they were edited, that is what this is.
