Wedding Photographers · Margaret River / Busselton, Western Australia
Kelly Harwood grew up in Margaret River and still lives there, and the South West wilderness runs through everything she publishes — karri forest, granite coast, paddocks and vineyards. She came to weddings sideways, with an Advanced Diploma in Screen and years on feature films and commercials, and says the storytelling instinct is what carried across. The published galleries are whole days told in order, from the getting-ready house to the last of the dancing.
Her own words are creative and low key: during the private moments she stands back and makes candid, natural pictures, and during portraits she gives just enough direction to make the most of the light and keep people comfortable. Editing is a mix of colour and black and white, aimed at natural, sharp and vibrant rather than heavily styled. She describes her pictures as tending to be candid rather than posed, and the galleries bear that out.
Couples marrying anywhere in the Margaret River region who want the whole day covered at length rather than a fixed shot list — the published galleries run past a hundred frames each. She scouts new locations before shooting them and is happy to recommend natural spots or vineyards. Couples who want an album rather than files alone are well served: five handcrafted album formats are sold outright with fabric and leather options.
Wedding collections are not priced on the site — dates and package information come by enquiry, and the booking deposit runs $350 to $500 depending on the collection. There is no cap on the number of images taken. Everything arrives as high-resolution files in a password-protected gallery plus a keepsake USB in a custom wooden box, with sneak peeks posted a few days after the day. Handcrafted albums start at $1,500.
The album range is unusually specified for a regional photographer: 10x10 and 12x12 formats in fabric or leather, four cover materials, four colourways each, matte or lustre paper, and 24, 28 or 32 double-page spreads, with duplicate 6x6 parent albums from $300 and embossing priced per album. It is a real product line rather than an afterthought.
