Karyn Clements has photographed more than a hundred weddings over a decade from a base in Bassendean, and has deliberately built the business around small ones — elopements capped at ten guests and short-form weddings up to a hundred. The whole proposition is intimate rather than all-day, and the pricing guide is published openly with an expiry date on it.

Style & Approach

Documentary by declaration, with a stated love of black and white, the nostalgic and editorial kind, and of slow shutter and movement. She will let a moment unfold untouched when it wants to, and step in with direction when it needs it. Unusually, she publishes her whole editing method — five phases from culling through colour to object removal — along with the note that she does not alter anyone’s body.

Expect roughly seventy to eighty final images per hour covered, previews inside a fortnight and the full gallery in eight to twelve weeks, longer in peak season. Payment can be split two or four ways, with a discount for paying up front.
