Aluuna is a couture and tailoring house in Ballina, and bridal is where it started. Its founder learned to sew before she learned to ride a bike, from a grandmother who was a bridal wear seamstress — her words are “bridal wear is in our blood”. The house style is soft, hand-beaded and quiet: blush, ivory and sheer, with beading threaded one bead at a time.

Dress Styles & Designers

Its own label, and only its own label. The bridal range is small and deliberate: Viola Bridal at $1,800, the gown that started the house, and Gia Bridal at $1,100, an A-line in luxurious velvet with delicate hand beading. Alongside them sits a ready-to-wear line — a sheer bodysuit, a hand-beaded mini and a beaded blouse — that a bride can wear to an engagement party or a rehearsal dinner.
