Dress Experience

Lasting Impressions has traded from 80 Prince Street in Grafton since 2002, when Leah Stevenson took it over; she writes that she was "so young when she was first taught to sew that she cannot even remember learning". The team is named on the site - Karen Bradshaw and Elaine Murray as tailors and sales assistants, Letisha and Amity Stevenson assisting - and the store sets out its mission in its own words: to ensure "every customer feels special and leaves the boutique happy", to "educate our customers on the best shapes for them", and explicitly not to "discriminate on appearance". It is a full-service occasion boutique rather than a bridal-only room: alongside wedding gowns it carries bridesmaids, mother of the bride and groom, debutante, formal and cocktail, race wear, flower girl and page boy, christening wear, accessories and men's suit hire from $120.
