A Beautiful Occasion is a Salamander Bay shop and styling studio founded by Amy Mahony and Sara Gambrill more than ten years ago, working solely in Port Stephens. Amy is a florist by trade; Sara came from coordinating functions for major hotels, which is why the business does the styling as well as the flowers. They won the Port Stephens Examiner Local Business Awards in 2022.

The published work leans textural and modern: bouquets built on dried palm and preserved elements, a white King Protea with native foliage, cascading phalaenopsis orchids, and softer blush and toffee rose work. Bouquets are handmade and finished with ribbon.
