Runway 7 Boutique is a family-run event-dressing store on Goondoon Street in the middle of Gladstone, opened in 2017 by Lynda Ninness. Bridal is one room of a much bigger wardrobe — the same shop dresses the races, the formal, the mother of the bride and the bridesmaids — and its bridal proposition is unusually plain: 136 of its 142 wedding gowns.

The labels are Nicoletta (the deepest range here), Herawhite Bridal, Tania Olsen, Tina Holly, Jadore and Elliatt alongside the store’s own Runway 7 Bridal line of roughly forty-seven gowns, each one named after a woman. There are also 39 veils and a bridesmaid range.

The Need-to-Knows

Appointments are preferred and for a one-hour standard fitting or for a 90-minute premium fitting, both fully redeemable against your gown if you say yes on the day. Cancel with 24 hours’ notice for a refund. Come freshly showered with no make-up, perfume or spray tan, bring a hair band and take your claw jewellery off. Bridal, bridesmaid and formal gowns are final sale — no returns or exchanges, and a special order needs a non-refundable deposit. Afterpay and ZipPay are accepted, and shipping is free.

Standout Feature

The owner has run a catwalk. Lynda created and coordinated the Calliope Catwalk Fashion Design Awards from 2011 to 2016, entered as a designer herself and took out Best Overall Designer in 2013, and teaches catwalk and deportment. She is also a qualified hairdresser and beauty therapist and makes bespoke millinery under her own MC Millinery label, to order in store. Very few regional boutiques can style a bride, make her hat and teach her how to walk in the dress.

Appointments are always preferred — walk-ins are accommodated where possible, or a time is arranged for you to return.
The appointment fee is fully redeemable against your gown if you say yes on the day.

Dress Experience

Runway 7 Boutique is a family owned and run store, opened in Gladstone in 2017.
The owner is Lynda Ninness, who describes her daughters, sister and mother working in the shop and her son cleaning the windows.
She is a fashion event coordinator, styling specialist, and catwalk and deportment teacher, with a background in fashion, design, beauty and event management.
She is a fully qualified hairdresser and beauty therapist.
She created and coordinated the Calliope Catwalk Fashion Design Awards from 2011 to 2016.
She entered those awards as a designer herself, winning Best Overall Designer in 2013 and an Open Age Encouragement Award in 2015.
She designs her own bespoke millinery label, MC Millinery, taking special orders in store.
She describes her aim as working with and training young women to be a more confident version of themselves.
