Gladstone Bridal Boutique has been dressing brides in Central Queensland since 1979 — 45 years and, in its own count, thousands of gowns. It sits on Goondoon Street in the middle of town, it is fully licensed with a private boutique bar, and its own promise is simple: “finding your dream gown should be easy”. Essense of Australia, Stella York, Martina Liana, MWL Bride and Jane Hill carry the bridal range, with Watters and Willowby for something looser. Bridesmaids come from Tania Olsen and One Fell Swoop, and the boutique will mix brands, fabrics and colours across a bridal party. Shoes are Harlo Australia; jewellery and headpieces are Amber Sceats, Amélie George and Windsor Bridal.

The Need-to-Knows

Appointments are essential and bridal appointments run 90 minutes — 120 if you want to try bridesmaids the same day. Saturdays fill weeks ahead. Bring no more than three guests, plus seamless nude underwear and minimal tan and makeup. Book nine to twelve months out: gowns are made to order and take four to eight months to arrive, and alterations need time on top. Working to a tighter date is possible — ask, and the team will talk through the alternatives.

Made-to-order pieces cannot be returned for change of mind, and jewellery and shoes cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.
Faulty items are repaired at the boutique's cost where the fault is minor.
