Granite Belt Retreat & Brewery
About
Overview & Vibe
Granite Belt Retreat & Brewery sits on 30 acres of natural bushland five minutes from Stanthorpe, on the Queensland side of the Granite Belt. It is a cabin estate with a 1,000-litre micro brewery, a full-service restaurant and a homestead function room — and the wedding it sells is a weekend rather than an afternoon.
Setting & Style
The homestead is the reception room: “warm timber décor, rustic charm, festoon lighting, and a cosy country ambiance”, with a fireplace and a dog-friendly rear deck. Around it, cedar cabins are scattered among granite boulders and bush, each with a log fire. The ceremony goes wherever on the 30 acres suits — the venue offers the estate for “your ceremony, photography, and reception” without naming a fixed site.
Ideal For
Couples who want their guests to stay on site — there is accommodation for sixty — and who like the idea of a bush wedding with craft beer rather than a winery. The Granite Belt’s wineries are minutes away if the wine list matters too.
The Need-to-Knows
No capacity is published anywhere — not for the homestead, not for the function centre. The only guest number on the site is “onsite accommodation for 60 guests”, which is beds, not seats. Nothing is priced either. And note the restaurant trades Friday to Monday only, with bar snacks midweek — worth checking against your date. Styling is outsourced to a recommended partner rather than provided.
Standout Feature
Sixty beds on the property, in six different formats — 16 timber cabins, 4 ground-level suites with step-free access, spa cabins, family cabins, pet-friendly cabins with fenced yards, and a four-bedroom Hidden House sleeping ten. Very few venues at this scale can put the whole guest list to bed on site, and fewer still can put the dog up too.
