Wedding Photographers · Gippsland, Victoria
Kate Lafferty is a wedding photographer based at Leongatha in South Gippsland, working across South Gippsland and the Bass Coast. Four wedding packages are published in full, from four hours through to ten, and every one of them lists what it costs and what arrives afterwards. She is also a school teacher, which is roughly the best training available for keeping a large group of people cheerful and moving.
Her wedding packages are all documentary coverage, and she describes bringing a calm presence and a relaxed, storytelling approach so that you can enjoy the day rather than feel stuck in a photo shoot. Her own account of a wedding is cheerfully unromantic about the mechanics — family politics, surprise rain, the occasional rogue groomsman — and her answer to all of it is a calm head, a quick shutter and snacks in the camera bag.
Couples marrying across South Gippsland and the Bass Coast who want the whole cost visible before they enquire. The four packages scale cleanly from a short day to a long one, and every one of them carries the same inclusions, so the only decision is how many hours you want covered.
Wedding coverage runs from $2,500 for four hours to $4,400 for ten. Every package includes a pre-wedding consultation, an unlimited number of photographs, a sneak peek within 48 hours, an online gallery of high-resolution images to download, and $200 of printing credit at a professional lab. Galleries usually arrive within four weeks, or four to six in peak season. She does not supply unedited images.
She is one of only five photographers in Australia working with the album maker Atkins, and designs each album herself from your photographs rather than dropping them into a template. Albums start at $300, and she makes the case for them plainly: your wedding deserves to exist in your hands, not just your camera roll.
