Rebecca Farley — Bec — photographs weddings from Yarram in South Gippsland, and has done it for fifteen years, starting on film in a darkroom before digital. She travels the whole of Gippsland, and describes herself as a storyteller for the souls in love rather than simply a photographer. The published work runs from Ninety Mile Beach sand to misty paddocks, vineyard nights and barn receptions under festoon lights.

Style & Approach

Her own description is a blend of natural and candid moments with a few gently guided portraits and no awkward posing. At the reception she prefers to be, in her words, a fly on the wall, making documentary photographs of you celebrating with family and friends. She is an award-winning photographer and works close in — the intimate, joyful, funny and even serious moments — and puts weight on prints and albums surviving the files.
