Jess photographs weddings from the Mornington Peninsula, and describes herself as drawn to quiet emotion and natural connection. Her work is aimed at alternative and non-traditional couples who value genuine connection over staged moments, and the promise she makes is that the experience will feel calm and uncomplicated from the first conversation onward. Couples writing about her keep using the same word: comfortable.
Her stated approach is documentary inspired — she photographs the day as it unfolds, steps in with gentle direction when it is needed, and lets the rest happen. For portraits she promises to guide you in a relaxed and natural way rather than posing you, on the grounds that the session is about connection and not performance. She also shoots 35mm film alongside digital, and writes about the grain, colour and texture giving a gallery that feels less polished in the traditional sense and more human.
Couples marrying anywhere between the Peninsula and the Dandenongs who want one photographer across the whole day rather than a team. Her published weddings run from a Yarra Valley winery marquee to a Collingwood warehouse, a Geelong reception, a Warrandyte chapel and three separate celebrations in the Dandenong Ranges, so she suits a country celebration and a city one alike. Elopements have their own collection, and styled sessions are offered to wedding businesses rather than couples.
Collections start from $3,300 and cover six to nine hours. A preview gallery of highlights arrives within 48 hours and the full gallery within five weeks, as a private online gallery with high-resolution images to download and print. Add-ons are quoted separately — engagement photos, albums and prints, a 35mm film gallery, content creation, extra coverage and a second photographer. A deposit secures the date and the balance is settled before the day; the full price list is sent after you enquire.
The 48-hour preview. Most photographers promise sneak peeks without committing to a window, and she names one — then delivers the complete gallery inside five weeks, which is fast for this trade. The 35mm film option sits alongside it as the slower counterweight.
