Flourish Eclectic
A shop on York Street in Albany that is three businesses at once — a florist, an artisan boutique and a creative studio running workshops.
Wedding Florists · Albany / Great Southern, Western Australia
Hanna runs Joy Botanical from a home studio in Albany, and she is a wedding florist rather than a shop - the whole business is built around custom wedding and event work across the Great Southern. She came to flowers sideways, through a Master of Architecture, a run of design roles and then hospitality, before studying floristry in New South Wales. The design training shows in the structural installation work.
In her own words: wild, dainty, textured florals, and letting all the wonderfully weird and wiggly stems do their thing. Yellow is her favourite colour and the portfolio shows it - hot pinks and oranges, cobalt and rust, banksia and native foliage beside garden roses and dahlias. There is soft ivory work too, but the colour weddings are what this studio is known for.
Couples marrying anywhere across Albany and the Great Southern who want colour and structure rather than a safe white palette, and who need one florist willing to build on site. The gallery runs to nineteen named weddings - clifftop ceremonies, farm sheds, a triangular arbour in a paddock, and full installations suspended overhead.
Every wedding is custom quoted, and a 30% non-refundable booking fee secures your date. The balance falls due four weeks out, and that is also the deadline for any change that affects the flower order; changes to what the florist does on the day need seven days’ notice by email. Pack-down is a separate paid service - without it you return the hired pieces within three days, and a card is held on file against them. If you want anything hung, staked into grass or lit with open flame, get the venue’s permission early; the studio asks you to arrange that.
The terms are unusually complete and unusually fair. They spell out what happens if the set-up runs past your start time - a full refund of anything missing, paid within seven days - and commit the studio to finding you a replacement florist of similar cost and style if it ever cannot deliver. Almost nobody publishes either promise.
