Mandurah is Perth’s estuary city, an hour south along the coast where the Peel-Harvey inlet opens into canals, sandbars and long ocean beaches. Couples marry on the water — jetty ceremonies, canal-side function rooms, cruises out past the dolphins — and the estuary sunsets are the reason most of them choose it.
Inland, the Peel region turns green quickly: the Serpentine and Murray rivers, Pinjarra’s heritage homesteads, the tuart forest and lakes of Yalgorup, and a scatter of small wineries and farm properties through the hills. It is close enough to Perth that guests drive down for the day, and pretty enough that most of them stay the weekend.
