Piotrek Ziolkowski is a Perth photographer who has built his practice around micro weddings, small weddings and elopements. He shoots thirty to thirty-five weddings a year and has photographed more than three hundred, in Australia and in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Poland, Italy and Canada.
Style & Approach
He describes it as a candid, documentary style, and says he never relies on traditional posing — he goes with the flow and uses everyday body language, so the photographs happen between the moments rather than during them. He came to weddings sideways, after a degree in cultural anthropology and stints as a chef and a dive guide, and says he likes weddings because they combine the demands of fashion, portraiture, documentary, event and product photography at once.

Couples skipping the large production for something smaller: a ceremony with ten guests or fewer, or an intimate celebration with a core group. Larger weddings above a hundred guests are taken as a custom collection with a second photographer. Couples who want no images shared publicly can have a non-sharing clause written into the contract.
