Wedding Photographers · Central Coast, New South Wales · By appointment
Joseph Sarkodie photographs weddings from Bateau Bay on the Central Coast of New South Wales, working across the Central Coast, Sydney, Kangaroo Valley and the regions around them. He trained and qualified as an architect in the United Kingdom before photography became his full-time vocation fifteen years ago, and that background in composition, balance and space still shapes how he frames a day. He has photographed celebrations across the United States, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and France as well as extensively throughout Australia.
He describes his work as warm, natural and quietly cinematic, built on genuine connection rather than staged moments. He guides gently where guidance helps and then steps back, so couples stay present with each other instead of with the camera. Light, timing and the small in-between moments are where his attention sits, and he draws on nature and atmosphere to give each wedding a distinctive visual character while keeping it honest and timeless.
Couples who want to feel at ease rather than directed, and who value authenticity and connection over a posed record. He is well suited to celebrations where the day should be allowed to unfold at its own pace, and to couples marrying away from home, having worked both across Australia and internationally.
Coverage runs from a six-hour half day through to a ten-hour full day, and longer days are common. A booking fee of half the total secures a date, with the balance due a week before the wedding. Galleries arrive within four weeks by private online link, and a typical ten-hour wedding yields around nine hundred edited images. Every frame is culled and edited by him personally and never outsourced, and he carries full public liability insurance with complete equipment redundancy on the day.
The contingency plan is unusually concrete. Should he ever be unable to attend, he draws on a trusted network of photographers he has worked alongside for years, arranges a replacement, and gives the couple the choice of who photographs their day, with the coverage and final images honoured in full.
