Overview & Vibe
The Mrs Edit is a bridal studio at Eleebana on Lake Macquarie, run by Laura, a bridal seamstress. It is built around Re-Loved gowns designer dresses sold on by the brides who wore them — alongside new made-to-order pieces, accessory hire and in-house alterations. Appointments are one-on-one in a private studio, with sparkling on arrival. The shop recently moved here from Mayfield.
Dress Styles & Designers
The exclusive Newcastle stockist of Karen Willis Holmes, with Jane Hill, Hera Couture, Kyha, Made With Love, Shanna Melville and Zavanna Couture made to order. The pre-loved rack has carried Pallas Couture, Monique Lhuillier, Prea James and Justin Alexander. Gowns are grouped as Edits — Lace, Classic, Beaded, Minimalist and Vintage — and browsable by size.
Ideal For
A bride who wants a designer gown for a fraction of its original price, and one who likes the idea of a dress with a history. Pre-loved pieces run from a few to the low thousands against retail prices several times that. Also for anyone selling a gown on — the studio takes consignment and runs an annual Re-Loved event.
The Need-to-Knows
Every appointment carries a fee, redeemable in most cases: for a first bridal appointment, for accessory styling, for alterations and for a virtual consultation. The studio takes two guests. Consignment and sample gowns are sold as they, faults included, and cannot be returned once they leave. New gowns need a deposit; holding a consignment gown needs non-refundable with the balance inside 14 days.
Standout Feature
The virtual appointment: Laura shows you gowns on camera and, as a seamstress, compares your measurements against the dress in real time and tells you what it would take to fit. There are also bridal bags made from gown offcuts, and you can send in fabric from something meaningful to have it sewn in.
