Raffertys Resort sits on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie at Cams Wharf, a self-contained lakeside resort where the ceremony, the reception and everyone’s beds are all on the same property.
The ceremony happens on the Village Green, a manicured lawn with uninterrupted views straight down the lake, or in the bushland quiet of the Arboretum. Guests then move to Raffertys Hill for canapés and champagne under festoon lighting while the sun goes down. The Reception Centre itself is the drawcard: a spacious room with 180-degree water views, a private bar, a large dance floor and its own verandah, seating up to two hundred. Around it the resort runs to four swimming pools, tennis courts and private lakefront access, with paddleboards and canoes for hire.
Couples with guests travelling in, who want the whole weekend in one place rather than a venue everyone drives home from.
Ceremony, reception and accommodation on one lakefront property, with the Village Green looking straight out over Lake Macquarie.
