Valerie Joseph works from Mittagong and photographs weddings across the Southern Highlands, and she is open about travelling anywhere for a couple she connects with. She takes a limited number of weddings a year, which she says is to keep the experience right for the people who have trusted her with it.
Candid above all. In her own words, candid photographs mean everything to her, and she takes pride in the genuine, spontaneous moments rather than arranged ones. She will get you moving and talking so you forget the camera is there, and her wedding work leans warm and unhurried.
Couples marrying in the Southern Highlands who want a photographer who lives there, and who would rather be caught laughing than posed. She also photographs families, newborns, maternity, brand and lifestyle sessions, so a wedding can lead into the years afterwards with the same person behind the camera.
She does not publish prices. The pricing guide comes on request through her contact form, and the only figure on her site is a $200 discount on a wedding album. The wedding coverage itself is six to ten hours with more than five hundred high-resolution images.
Your gallery is linked to a professional print lab, and she is unusually deliberate about it: she researched for months before choosing Atkins Pro Lab in South Australia, Australia’s oldest, whose prints she says will last well over a hundred years with proper care.
