Avoda Studios is Indiana Dinh, who works as Indy and photographs weddings from Sydney. Avoda is Hebrew for work, worship and craftsmanship, and he uses those three words to describe how he approaches the job. He photographs every wedding himself — when a couple books Avoda Studios, they are booking him, not an associate — and he shoots both digital and 35mm film on every collection.
Style & Approach
His stated method is relationship first: he invests time before the day so that by the wedding he is not a stranger with a camera, on the reasoning that honest, emotional photography is only possible once people are at ease. Every collection includes two or three rolls of 35mm film alongside the digital coverage, which he says adds depth and texture to the finished gallery. He also declines to sell by the hour, saying his collections are not built around a set number of hours because he wants to photograph the whole day.
