Overview & Vibe

Red Berry Photography is Chris Jallard, working from Berry on the New South Wales south coast with his wife Hannah. He grew up in the Illawarra, spent some years in Sydney, and came back to the coast in 2012 to photograph full time. Thirteen years on he shoots somewhere between fifty and sixty weddings a year across the region, and has the awards to show for it.

Style & Approach

Unobtrusive is the word he uses about himself, and calm is the one his couples use. The work is documentary in shape — the day as it unfolds, candid moments, genuine emotion, plenty of laughter and romance — and portraits are handled as a few quiet moments together rather than a run of poses. He has a particular love of landscape and is unusually good at a sunset.

Ideal For

Couples marrying anywhere within about an hour of Berry — the Shoalhaven, Kangaroo Valley, Jervis Bay, Kiama and Gerringong, up to Wollongong and across to the Southern Highlands — and equally couples eloping or holding something small. He is licensed for drone work and shoots stills only, so a videographer comes from his recommended list rather than in-house.
