About

Overview & Vibe

The Posy Crew is Debra Pemble, working from a home studio in the rainforest outside Port Douglas. Two decades in floristry, an International Master Florist Certification completed in Holland, and Gold and Silver Gilt medals at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show. She also teaches, edits and publishes Flowers Magazine Australia and hosts The Flowery Folk podcast.

Style & Signature Blooms

Wild and romantic, shaped by where she lives. “I am constantly inspired by the movement of foliage, the layers of the landscape, the rich textures and the imperfect beauty found in nature.” Her own galleries run from rust and blush orchid bridal work, to white anthurium and orchid arrangements at the foot of a banyan, to a citrus-and-bloom tower on a dessert table, to chandeliers over a rainforest long table.

Ideal For

A couple who wants the whole day handled and is prepared to spend for it. Full service means “the design, the flowers, the vessels, delivery, set up and even pack down” — including relocating the ceremony flowers to the reception and, if you want, sending guests home with them. She takes a limited number of weddings a year and declines Pinterest-by-numbers: “We work with you in creating a Wedding or Event that’s just for you, not a copy of someone else’s.”

The Need-to-Knows

There is a minimum order value of $3,000 for full-service weddings, and a typical full spend runs $4,000 to $5,000. A 25% non-refundable booking fee secures the date, with the balance due four weeks before. Plan four to six months out, or six to nine in the June–October peak; bookings are not usually taken more than twelve months ahead. Enquiries are answered within three to five business days.

Standout Feature

She has written down what wedding flowers actually cost. A published budget guide breaks the spend into four tiers with the contents of each, and separate articles explain why the minimum went up, how quotes and proposals work, and what separates an elopement package from full service. Alongside it sits an unusually frank account of the work — the days of quoting and sourcing, the flowers air-freighted into Tropical North Queensland, the return at midnight to strike the venue.
