Anna Dutton is a published, multi-award-winning bridal designer working from her own studio in Mackay. Every gown is “designed, cut, sewn, fitted and hand finished personally by Anna” — one person, one gown at a time, for brides who come to her from all over Australia.

Dress Styles & Designers

There is no rack and no label but her own. Gowns are one-off couture commissions in fabrics sourced from specialist suppliers, and she is explicit that colour is open: “classic white or ivory, bold colour or anything in between” — her own gallery includes red, blue and black wedding gowns alongside ivory. She also hand-makes an exclusive range of one-off veils and headpieces.

Ideal For

A bride who knows what she wants and cannot buy it. The commitment is real — a design consultation, a quote, a booking fee, staged payments and two to three fittings across months — and in return nobody else will ever have the dress. It also suits a bride outside Mackay: she works with brides from all over the country.

The Need-to-Knows

Book six to twelve months ahead; some months fill that far out. A $150 design and styling consultation comes first — about an hour and a half, with her own fabric samples in the studio — then a quote, then a $550 non-refundable booking fee and a signed form within seven days. She does not hold dates. Measurements are taken about four months before the wedding, the gown is started at three, and the final fitting is the week of the wedding. Enquiries are by email — no phone number is published. She does not take bridesmaid or mother-of-the-bride bookings.

Appointment Policy

Enquire by email with your event date, pictures of the style you like, and your contact details.
A $150 design and styling consultation comes first — about one to one and a half hours, with the studio's own fabric samples shown.
Your gown is sketched and fabrics chosen at the consultation, and a quote follows shortly after.
A $550 non-refundable booking fee and a signed booking form are due within seven days — the studio does not hold dates.
Payment is staged: a fabric deposit brings you to half, then a third of the balance before the first fitting and half of what remains before the second.
The balance is paid in full before the gown leaves the studio.
Measurements are taken about four months before the wedding and the gown is started at three.
The final fitting is the week of your wedding; two to three fittings is usual.

The studio does not take bookings for bridesmaid gowns or mother-of-the-bride or groom outfits.
