Desert Moon Bridal
About
Overview & Vibe
Desert Moon Bridal designs its own gowns and shows them in an appointment-only showroom on Hospital Road in Emerald, in Central Queensland. Founder Jemma photographed weddings for more than a decade, then found that shopping for her own dress meant a five-hour drive, so she started drawing gowns instead. The house line is “for the wild-hearted bride”.
Dress Styles & Designers
Everything is Desert Moon's own label — alternative, floral and traditional gowns, made to order. Expect floral lace, hand-painted Australian florals printed onto fabric, iridescent organza, corset backs and detachable capes, and a full range of black gowns for a gothic wedding. There are minis for elopements and reception changes, plus veils, capes and jackets.
Ideal For
A bride who wants something unusual and a budget under $1,000, and a regional or interstate bride who cannot get to a city boutique — the label ships worldwide and will help you choose a size by email before you order.
The Need-to-Knows
Gowns run $285 to $989, with a whole collection under $600 and sample-sale pieces from $40. Standard sizes are 4 to 26 AU and custom sizing is free on almost every design, including outside that range. Production takes 8 to 12 weeks, so order 5 to 6 months before the day; rush orders are sometimes possible at eight weeks. Every gown is made to order, so full payment is taken up front and there are no change-of-mind refunds. Afterpay and PayPal Pay in 4 are accepted. Showroom visits are by appointment only, 60 minutes, no walk-ins — and because it is a showroom rather than a stockroom, email ahead with the designs and size you want to try so they can confirm what is there.
Standout Feature
Custom sizing at no extra cost. Almost every gown can be cut to your own measurements, and most designs can be made smaller than a size 4 or larger than a size 26.
