Wylde Folk Studio is Tahlia, working from a studio at Wellington Point in the Redlands, and her husband, who films. They describe themselves as a husband-and-wife team, photographer and videographer, capturing love stories side by side. Weddings sit alongside newborn, maternity, family and commercial work, each with its own portfolio and price list.
Their own description is natural, organic and light-filled with a nod to their original love of film — modern but timeless. Tahlia writes that her editing is light and airy but warm, with simple colour adjustments to replicate that film look, and that her work is meant to stand the test of time rather than follow fads. On the day they take a relaxed, editorial and documentary approach, letting things unfold while quietly capturing what matters.
Couples who want photography and film from one team, and couples eloping midweek — the elopement collection covers ninety minutes and is available Monday to Thursday, with weekends by request. They also travel, and describe Italy as a second home, with weddings photographed in France and Greece as well.
Collections start at $1,800 for an elopement and run $3,200, $3,900 and $4,300 for six, eight and ten hours, with a combined photography and film collection at $8,600. A twenty per cent booking fee secures the date. Photographs are delivered within four weeks and films within six, with a sneak peek inside forty-eight hours.
They do not cap the number of photographs — their stated average is about one hundred images per hour of coverage — and every collection includes a memory box of thirty printed six-by-four inch matte art prints alongside the digital gallery, so a couple leaves with something physical as standard rather than as an upsell.
