Nutmeg Creative is a one-designer stationery studio in Adelaide, started in 2017, making invitations, stationery and bespoke design in Adelaide, South Australia. There are two ways in: a semi-custom range of ready-made designs you personalise, or a fully custom suite designed from scratch. It also designs signage, menus and labels for businesses, and sells a separate range of greeting cards and gifts through its own retail store.

Style & Printing

The house look is modern and clean, with hand-drawn illustration and hand-lettering turning up across the range. Digital printing is the main offering and the studio calls it reliable and cost-effective across most papers; foiling, letterpress and die-cutting can be arranged for texture and shine, at higher cost and with longer turnaround. White ink is available, though the studio suggests it only for envelopes you plan to hand-deliver, because automated mail sorting can struggle to read it. Everything is printed in Australia, with a trusted Adelaide printer for most work and specialist printers interstate when a particular card stock calls for it.

Standout Feature

It will tell you when something will not work. Foil cannot go on linen, and white ink on envelopes risks being misread by Australia Post’s sorting machines, so the studio steers you to a smoother stock or a coloured envelope instead.

Enquiries start through the studio's contact form with your event details, quantities and inspiration, and it will come back with initial pricing guidance.
For a bespoke project a paid design consultation may be recommended before booking, with the fee advised in writing beforehand and based on the scope of the work.
Local pick-up can be arranged by appointment.

Price Notes

The custom design fee is for design only. Printing is quoted separately on top, based on the stock and finishes you choose.
Foiling, letterpress and die-cutting cost more than digital printing and take longer.
Foil cannot be applied to every stock. Textured papers such as linen are not suitable, so the studio will suggest a smoother option.
A non-refundable retainer of 50 per cent is required to start a custom project, and the balance is due before printing or before files are released.
For projects quoted under $200 the studio may ask for full payment up front instead of a retainer.
Revisions beyond the agreed scope are charged at $65 an hour.
Quotes are valid for fourteen days and invoices are due within seven.
Prices are quoted in Australian dollars. The studio is not registered for GST, so no GST is added to what you are quoted.
