Wedding Florists · Barossa Valley, South Australia
Miss Maggies began as a corner flower store in Tanunda in 2005 and has spent more than twenty years building a Barossa customer base that runs from private homes and leading wineries through to aged care and both local hospitals. Wedding work is deliberately kept apart from all of that: every wedding is made at a separate studio in Eden Valley.
Individual rather than templated. Maggie sizes and styles a bouquet to the person carrying it, which is why she wants to meet the couple first, and the portfolio moves easily between soft garden palettes, native and textural work and deeper burgundy tones.
Couples marrying anywhere in the Barossa who want a florist with two decades of local weddings behind her, and who like the idea of their flowers being made somewhere quiet rather than between shop customers. Couples who cannot get to an appointment are worked with by email instead.
There are no pre-prepared packages. An appointment leads to a written, detailed, no-obligation quote, and Miss Maggies is explicit that a couple should not have to pay for the chance to choose their suppliers. Enquiries go to 0431 812 962 or by email.
A published environmental and ethical purchasing policy, which almost nothing else in this directory has. Miss Maggies recycles its own flower sleeves, paper and green waste, reuses supplier packaging, opens the window instead of running heating and cooling, buys from Australian-owned and local companies where possible, and shops farmers markets to cut transport emissions.
