Michele's Bridal is a Shepparton bridal store on High Street, and it sets its tone in its own words: “We are not your typical bridal store; you'll find us coffee in hand, barefoot & ready to help you fall in love with no doubt the most important gown of your life.” Every gown on the racks is hand-picked by the owner, and the store closes its door while an appointment is running so the bride has it to herself.

The Need-to-Knows
- Appointments are essential for trying on. Saturdays are one hour with 2–3 guests; Tuesday to Friday is 1.5 hours for groups of up to 5, at 11am, 1pm or 2.30pm.
- A VIP appointment is two hours with the store to yourself, two staff and bubbles on arrival, for up to 6 guests — $99, non-refundable.
- Start looking 9 to 12 months out, so a new gown can be ordered in your size or colour.
- Lay-by runs up to 12 months, with payment plans and bank transfer.

- No hire and no pre-loved — every gown is new. Off-the-rack gowns are sold at a generous discount.

The plus-size room. A hundred gowns in size 18 and up, in a regional city, is rare enough that brides travel for it — and the store is direct about why it matters: the gowns are “specifically designed to enhance curves and really flatter the body”.

Appointment Policy
- Appointments are essential to try on gowns. The store displays its closed sign while one is in progress.
- Saturday bridal appointments are a one-hour slot for 2 to 3 guests, limited by the seating.
- Tuesday to Friday bridal appointments are 1.5 hours for groups of up to 5, at 11am, 1pm or 2.30pm.
- A VIP appointment is two hours with two staff, the store to yourself and bubbles on arrival, for up to 6 guests. It is $99 and non-refundable, booked Tuesday to Friday at 11am or Saturday at 9am.
- A second-look appointment is 30 minutes to re-try your gown and be measured. Bridesmaids are an hour, debutante 30 to 45 minutes, formal and alterations 15 to 30 minutes.
- Trading and admin hours are Tuesday to Friday 1pm to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm, for lay-by payments, pick-ups and enquiries.
