A family-owned boutique resort in the Cable Beach precinct at Broome, built around tropical gardens and raised timber walkways. Its wedding offer is unusual and simple: you book out the entire resort for a minimum of three days and host the wedding yourself, with the resort's coordinator helping you do it.
Setting & Style
The reception area sits among the gardens on a large lawn — synthetic, so it always looks perfect — strung with fairy lights and fringed by palms and evergreen frangipanis, with a purpose-built stage for speeches and entertainment and a built-in bar. Accommodation is 1- and 2-bedroom villas, studio rooms and eco tents with kitchenettes and ensuites, around a resort pool.
Ideal For
Couples bringing a group to Broome for several days who want their own private resort and are willing to run the catering and the bar themselves — which is where the savings are.
The Need-to-Knows
- You must take the whole resort for at least three days. In the resort's own words: “we require you to book out the accommodation in its entirety for a minimum of 3 days (with the offer of heavily discounted rates for any additional nights stay). There is a venue fee on top of this.”
- You host it yourself, and that is the point. “essentially you are hosting the function yourself so all alcohol, food and entertainment you can provide, which has enormous cost benefits overall.” Nothing is catered by the resort.
- No prices are published — not the accommodation minimum, not the venue fee. Both are quoted on enquiry, and an information pack is emailed.
- No guest capacity is published either. The resort hosts “more than twenty events… every year” but names no number.
- The coordinator costs nothing extra. Lauren is included, liaises with all vendors, is on site on the day, and will help plan group itineraries for guests staying in Broome.
- Book a long way out. “Bookings for 2027 are filling up quickly… We are also accepting bookings for 2028 and beyond.”
- Everything is self-catering by design — villas and tents have kitchenettes, and there are free on-site bicycles for riding to Cable Beach.

- THE COST MODEL IS THE HEADLINE AND IT IS UNUSUAL. A couple books every room, villa and tent for three nights minimum, pays a venue fee on top, and then supplies all food, all alcohol and all entertainment themselves. That is the opposite of a per-head package: the fixed cost is the resort and the variable cost is entirely within the couple's control. dietary_options_supported and price_per_head are both NULL for the same reason - the resort does not cater.
- NO GUEST CAPACITY IS PUBLISHED. The weddings page says only 'With more than twenty events at The Billi every year, we have been most fortunate to be able to share our slice of paradise with guests and their loved ones.' No maximum, no minimum, and no seated or standing figure appears anywhere on the site. Recorded NULL rather than inferred from the accommodation, which is not stated in unit counts either.
- THE COORDINATOR IS INCLUDED AND THE SITE IS SPECIFIC ABOUT WHAT SHE DOES: 'Wedding co-ordination is made easy as you will also have direct contact with our wedding co-ordinator Lauren at no extra cost to you... Her role is to provide one-on-one support through the planning stages right up until your wedding day... Lauren will liaise with all vendors prior to your wedding and be onsite on your wedding day to set up and coordinate with all vendors and be the go-to person should any issues arise.' She also assists 'with planning group itineraries for you and your guests whilst they are in Broome'.
- LEAD TIMES ARE LONG: 'Bookings for 2027 are filling up quickly - inquire now to secure your spot! We are also accepting bookings for 2028 and beyond. For more details, feel free to contact us, and we'll be happy to send you an information pack via email.'
- THE RESORT IS SELF-CATERING BY DESIGN, WHICH IS WHY THE MODEL WORKS: 'We offer a range of self-catering accommodation including 1 and 2 Bedroom Villas, Studio Rooms and ultra-luxurious Eco Tents fitted with their own kitchenettes and ensuites.' Villas have a 'Fully equipped kitchen & outdoor deck with BBQ', an 'Outdoor rain shower' and a 'Private dual showered indoor bathroom'.
- THE ACCOMMODATION IS DESCRIBED BY TYPE BUT NOT BY COUNT. The site names Villas (1 and 2 bedroom), Studio Rooms, Luxury Queen Tents, Deluxe Queen Tents and Deluxe King Tents on separate pages, but publishes no unit totals, so no sleeps-N figure is recorded. External listings quote figures; none is used.
