Eco Beach sits on thirteen kilometres of empty coast 130 kilometres south of Broome, reached by a highway run and ten kilometres of pindan road — or by helicopter in twenty-five minutes. Villas and safari tents are linked by more than a kilometre of elevated boardwalk above the dunes, and the whole place can be taken over for a wedding. Barefoot on the sand is the literal proposition, not a figure of speech.

Setting & Style

Ceremony sites are the landscape itself: an expansive white beach, a secluded sea cave, or Jack’s Cliff Top above the Indian Ocean. Receptions run at Jack’s Bar & Restaurant beside the infinity pool, at the Beach House at the highest point of the property, or on a grass or sand patch chosen on the day. Dinner under a fairy-lit gazebo over the ocean is a published option for two.

Couples who want the Kimberley coast rather than a room with a view of it, and whose guests will make a trip of it — the retreat sleeps up to 120 and everyone stays on site.

The Need-to-Knows

Weddings can only be booked between 1 April and 30 November. The retreat states this outright. The Kimberley wet season closes the calendar for four months of the year, so a December-to-March date is not on offer at any price.
“Shoulder season” means 1 April to 30 June, and every package is quoted on a shoulder-season wedding day — a date outside that window is an upgrade.

Getting there: a daily shuttle from Broome, a 25-minute scenic helicopter flight, a 2.5-hour catamaran cruise, a 1.5-hour bus transfer, or self-drive.
